Amer Fort (Amber Fort)

Why start here? Amer Fort is Jaipur's crown jewel and gets crowded as the day progresses. An early start allows you to explore its vast courtyards, intricate palaces like the Sheesh Mahal (Mirror Palace), and stunning ramparts in relative peace.
Getting to the top: You can either walk up the main ramp, take a Jeep ride (faster and recommended for this tight schedule), or opt for an elephant ride (starts early and has long queues).
Time Allocation: 2.5 hours is essential to do justice to the main sections.

Photo Stop at Jal Mahal

En route to the city: As you drive back from Amer Fort, you will pass the picturesque Jal Mahal (Water Palace). It's a perfect spot for a 15-minute photo stop. While you cannot go inside the palace, the view from the banks of Man Sagar Lake is breathtaking.

What to see: This sprawling complex is a magnificent blend of Rajput architecture. Explore the museums showcasing royal costumes and weapons, the grand Mubarak Mahal, and the ornate Chandra Mahal. The courtyards, like Pritam Niwas Chowk with its four exquisitely decorated gates, are a highlight.

Jantar Mantar

Astronomical Marvel: Right next to the City Palace is Jantar Mantar, a UNESCO World Heritage site. This collection of 19 giant stone astronomical instruments is fascinating. Seeing the world's largest stone sundial is a mind-boggling experience.

Hawa Mahal (from the outside and a cafe view)

Jaipur's Icon: walk over to the Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds). While you can go inside, the best view of its iconic honeycomb facade is from the outside.

Birla Mandir

Evening visit Birla Mandir is a modern marvel made of pristine white marble. It's dedicated to Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi. The temple is especially beautiful and serene in the evening light and during the evening aarti (prayer ceremony).
